NorDan on NBS Plus- Making specification simple!
Date: 20/11/2009
NorDan is now registered on RIBA's NBS Plus scheme, making it easier for architects and specifiers to get all the facts they need on the manufacturer's products, CPD courses and literature.
NBS Plus is an online library (www.ribaproductselector.com), linked to specific clauses within NBS specification software such as NBS Building. It provides useful product information to specifiers at the point they need it most – when completing a specification. So NorDan's high performance timber windows and doors can be selected quickly and accurately, saving valuable time on desk research.
NBS Plus includes general product information such as standard features and product options, linked to a product-specific NBS Plus clause. This product clause is a concise and robust specification written in NBS format to help the specifier describe the chosen product efficiently and with clarity. Product options are displayed in drop down lists, allowing fast and accurate product specification.
Products covered on NBS Plus include NorDan's triple-glazed NTech Passive window with its industry-leading whole window U-value of just 0.7 W/m2K, as well as the standard double-glazed range, with a whole window U-value of 1.2 W/m2K. Information on the flagship tilt and turn security window design also features, together with its fixed light and fully reversible windows, and sliding patio doors and security doorsets. NorDan's standard range of exterior doors and windows uses PEFC certified timber, and selected designs also carry Secured by Design approval.
NorDan's entry also covers its RIBA-approved CPD presentation, 'Sustainability... the Timber Window Solution'. The seminar gives an overview of the requirements of the Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM, as well as covering in detail topics concerning window specification, including energy conservation, whole life analysis, noise pollution, acoustics and recycling.
And in addition, the NorDan Collection brochure can be downloaded, which gives full product information on the whole range of windows and doors, as well as including a section on NorDan’s academic research into a product's whole life-cycle energy usage and embodied energy, particularly useful for architects and specifiers to make a more informed choice when working on a project.
