NorDan First for Forest to Factory Credentials

NorDan, supplier of Norwegian high performance windows and doors to the UK, has achieved an industry accreditation for its green credentials. It’s the first time this has been awarded in Norway.

The manufacturer has achieved PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) chain of custody certification for its balcony and patio doors and all windows. This means the high quality timber used by NorDan is sourced from PEFC-certificated sustainable sources and can be traced from forest to factory.

PEFC, a non-profit, non-governmental global organisation, promotes sustainable forest management through independent third party forest certification. The organisation covers 85 percent of the world’s forests and is the largest global certification system.

Chris Fowkes, senior project manager, NorDan, said: "We now have the green credentials to assure buyers of our doors and windows that our products come from sustainably managed forests."

All designs are made from top quality Nordic pine from sustainably-managed forests and offer high levels of security, energy efficiency and noise reduction.
