  Patio door (SD)

The beautiful NorDan sliding patio door, made from first class laminated Nordic Pine, has the sliding leaf on the outside, thus ensuring optimum resistance against wind and rain. Furniture can be placed right up to the door, thus maximising your living space.

Operation
Patio doors are produced with one side fixed and the other part sliding, each being of equal width. The sliding leaf is on the outside. When the door handle is released, the door moves out to clear the gasket and can then easily be moved sideways. The door can be stopped and restrained in any open position on the track, simply by closing the door handle.

NorDan sliding patio doors are fitted with alloy anti-lift devices located in the frame head, preventing intruders from lifting the sliding door from its track. For any maintenance or finishing, the anti-lift devices can be removed only when the sliding leaf is unlocked and opened.

Protection against burglars
The NorDan patio door is approved by the Norwegian Insurance Companies’ Test Council. This means that every locking point of the door is able to withstand an incredible 600 kilos. Furthermore, the glass cannot be removed from the outside without breaking it. The locking device on the meeting stiles makes it even more secure against unwanted guests. Double sided seven pin locking cylinders are optionally available.

Locking devices
There is a secondary locking device on the fixed mullion for use whenever the door is closed. It is positioned centrally, where the fixed and opening mullions meet. This secondary lock serves four important purposes:

  • Child safety
  • Increased resistance against forced entry
  • Additional tightening (where the fixed and sliding door meet) to avoid weather penetration
  • Resistance against timber movement
