  Sound reduction

All windows from NorDan have excellent sound reducing qualities and, by incorporating special glass, can create even better noise reduction.

Defeating noise pollution
In extreme cases, where people live or work in very noisy environments, NorDan offers solutions to provide a dramatic improvement to their quality of life. The optimum NorDan solution offers a sound reduction of 48dB(A) and is achieved by cleverly coupling two windows together to act as one. The outside window is outward opening and the inner window is inward opening. This allows access to all sides of the glass for cleaning and maintenance. Data is available on a large variety of acoustic tests. Please ask for details.

Note: All NorDan's acoustic tests are based on the whole window performance, not just the glass. After all, there is no point using highly efficient glazing for a specific purpose if the sash and frame do not complement the glazing with a positive seal against all intrusions, whether from noise, weather or burglars.
