Arsenal FC Regeneration Project

£1.52m of high performance aluminum-clad timber windows installed by NorDan

When Arsenal Football Club made the decision to move from Highbury Stadium to the new Emirates Stadium in the London Borough of Islington, the Club extended its remit to a major regeneration plan for a wide area around the stadium.

Queensland Road is the final housing phase of the regeneration project in London Borough of Islington providing 1400 new homes for Newlon Housing Trust. Contractors are Kier Construction.

£1.52m of high performance aluminum-clad timber windows, from our NTech 1.2 range, and balcony doors are supplied and installed by NorDan.

This is the biggest single development project in the regeneration area and a fitting finale to this amazing project. The masterplan included plans for a metropolitan mix of commercial space, other sport and leisure uses, community health facilities, retail units, as well as affordable housing.

NorDan NTech 1.2 range of Villa top hung, fully reversible windows, using the Classic hinge range, as well as balcony doors were supplied. The challenge was to supply facetted ‘on plan’ ribbon windows to suit the curve of the brickwork. These are true glazed window units and opaque glazed spandrel units. The building is finished in brick cladding.

The project required NorDan CAD expertise to layout and size. Given the location beside busy main roads, a 40dB Rw sound reduction was required in some areas to achieve the acoustic specification.
